Who We Are

Seattle Adaptive Sports (SAS) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization recognized by the US Olympic/Paralympic Committee as a Paralympic Sports Club.

We believe that team sports are a powerful vehicle for personal growth & development for people with disabilities. As Western Washington’s leading adaptive sports organization, we build and support recreational and nationally competitive teams, including wheelchair basketball, sled hockey, power soccer, and goalball.

Seattle Adaptive Sports is recognized by the US Olympic/Paralympic Committee as a Paralympic Sports Club. Our organization follows the Paralympic values, which include courage, determination, inspiration and equality. For more information about the US Paralympics, visit http://www.teamusa.org/US-Paralympics.

Seattle Adaptive Sports’ programs are designed for individuals with a permanent physical disability that precludes them from participating in traditional sports and athletics without modifications. Physical disabilities could include amputation, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, joint damage, severe scoliosis, spina bifida, transverse myelitis, traumatic brain injury, and other congenital or acquired conditions that affect mobility.

Programs offered include competitive league sports, recreational team sports, instructional camps, sports clinics, and other adaptive awareness events based on need and interest. Like many adaptive sports organizations and Paralympic Clubs, we rely on a robust volunteer and donor base to keep our programs strong!
