GOALBALL

Goalball is a Paralympic sport played by blind and low vision athletes. The rules are simple yet complicated all at the same time. The biggest rule? Everybody must stay quiet so that the athletes can concentrate. Even athletes on the court need to make sure they don't make too much noise or they will get a penalty. Our goalball team, the cobras, practices weekly from September through May and competes in tournaments locally, regionally, and nationally. The cobras have up to three different teams during a given season; the King Cobras, Killer Cobras, and Queen Cobras (women's team). If you want to try it out, please stop by Van Asselt Community Center on a Saturday during practice and our team will get you all set up!

Goalball is typically held September-May on the weekends. We are always looking for volunteers to help with set up and breakdown of the court and for chasing runaway goal balls too!
